“After suffering an injury during my first attempt at training for a marathon. I started looking for another form of exercise that did not involve running. I was introduced to Chris, who got me lifting weights. I remember the first session, Chris asked me to deadlift an Olympic bar, I had no idea how to do it, let alone the strength. Chris was very supportive, he adapted exercises for me so that I could build up to more complex techniques and over time I was able to lift with heavier weights.
Feeling physically fit and stronger than ever, I decided I wanted to set myself the challenge of completing a marathon.
Chris wrote me a personalised programme that was split into 4 blocks. This involved a weekly PT session where Chris focused on my strength and conditioning, we had regular check ins and Chris adapted the programme in response to my progress. Throughout my training Chris very supportive, when I felt that I couldn’t do it, he would remind me of things I had already achieved.
Following the programme, completely changed this, I was running faster and able to maintain the pace even on long runs. I was surprised at what I could do with the right training guidance.
Having now completed the marathon in under 4 hours. I am so grateful to Chris for all his hard work and dedication in providing me with a programme that got me marathon ready, without any injuries, and a sub 4 hour finish.
